Driver´s license

The driver must present a valid driver´s license held for a minimum of one year at the time of rental. An international Driving Permit (IDP)/International Driving Licence (IDL) is also required if your national driver´s licence is not in the Roman script.

Vehicles for more than 9 passengers, driving licence D is required or if the driver has licence B issued before March 1988.

Additional Driver

All reservations must be under the lead drivers name. The lead driver must be present at the time of rental and must be the main cardholder.

If there is more than one driver, an additional fee of 1000isk per rental is charged. All extra drivers must be registered on the rental agreement at the time of rental for them to be insured. Un-registered drivers are fully responsible for all damages that happen while they are driving.

Age Restrictions - Minimum Age

20 year for passanger cars - car groups A,B,O and D

23 year for jeeps and shuttles - car grops F,P,K,L,M, N and Landrover Defender

25 year for special cars - Campers and mobile homes

Methods of Payment

A credit card in the main driver´s name is required for the booking and renting the vehicle, however you may opt to pay by other means at termination of the rental, subject to specific terms and conditions being met.

Acceptible credit cards are: Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Diners.

At the time of rental, an auhorisation is obtained on your credit card based on the estimated rental charges. There must be sufficient credit on your card to cover all estimated charges.
